Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it is used, and the limited situations in which another party may receive it. By using Hall County Criminal History, you accept the practices stated below.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered into a search box is sent directly to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies any response. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email sent to us may be kept long enough to answer and maintain the correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers automatically receive basic technical details when a page loads:

  • The browser type and version used for the visit
  • Page-view times and dates
  • The device's assigned IP address
  • Visited pages and approximate time spent on them
  • Device category and operating system
  • Any referring website

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small device files that help measure how visitors move through the site, including popular pages and exit points. Analytics providers combine that traffic information for reporting. A browser can block cookies, although disabling them may change how some features work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
  • Routing a submitted search to the proper outside provider
  • Maintaining site availability, speed, and operation
  • Measuring which content readers use and where improvements are needed
  • Selecting advertising that may be relevant

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Hall County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to records held by Hall County Sheriff, Hall County Corrections, the criminal courts, the Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division, and the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not turned into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies power the site's search tools. Their own privacy policies govern information submitted through those boxes. Each provider chooses its retention and disclosure practices, which are beyond our control, so review the provider's terms before searching.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Hall County offices, Nebraska court portals, state agencies, legal resources, and private search services. Once an outside page opens, that operator's privacy policy controls the visit. Review it before providing personal information.

Advertising providers may use their own systems to track activity across websites and select targeted ads. We do not operate that tracking infrastructure.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be received by:

  • Analytics vendors that measure traffic and site performance
  • Outside search providers that process submitted queries
  • Government or law enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
  • Advertising networks that deliver ads on the site

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected data. No internet service is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

This service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If a minor's information is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.

Your Data Rights

Depending on where you live, Nebraska law may provide additional rights concerning personal data. The Nebraska Public Records Statutes, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 84-712 through 84-712.09, govern access to government records, while Neb. Rev. Stat. § 29-3523 limits public dissemination of specified criminal-history information. For data held by this private site, you may:

  • Request correction of inaccurate personal data
  • Ask what personal information we hold about you
  • Decline certain forms of data processing
  • Seek deletion of your personal data

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised as site practices or legal duties change. A revised version takes effect when it is posted here with a new date.
